In Australia, getting a mobile is very easy and you should get one to have contact with people. At present, there are two types of mobile services, Prepaid and the Plan. Most students use prepaid as they are cheaper and more convenient. But you need to buy a mobile handset from the service provider. You cannot use the handset you took from Myanmar or buy from any other. Even buying in Australia, the prepaid can only be used for the handset proved by your service provider. So if you want to use the prepaid, then you need to buy a handset first from the provider you  want to use. Some well-known providers are Telstra , Optus , Vodafone , 3mobiles  etc.

But for plan, you have more credits and but you have to pay monthly charges. Basically, $30 is the least plan and it is more popular among students. Also in plan, you can have a handset free in different kind of plan depending on which handset you choose. In some plans you have to pay extra charges for the handset monthly.

So it is up to you how you want to use and how much you will use. If you are less using mobile and just need to say something or call only to less people, then prepaid is a good choice for you as you don’t need to pay monthly fees whether you talk or not. But if you have friends and you need to talk with them, or you are fond of talking from mobile, then plan is a better one.
